Backcandle 2.1 — a softer, clearer look on every screen

A fresh coat across the whole product: a mint canvas with white rounded cards, a teal accent and new type, in a light theme and a matching dark one. The terminal now fits a laptop, a tablet and a phone without cutting anything off, popups open faster on machines without graphics acceleration, and your discipline score on the progress page shows how your recent sessions went at a glance.

added 1
  • Your discipline at a glance on the progress page: the average score of your last five graded sessions and how it moved, one tile per session that opens it in the journal, and your run of perfect sessions
changed 4
  • A new look across the terminal, every app page and the public site: a mint canvas, white rounded cards, a teal accent and soft depth instead of hard frames
  • New type: Bricolage Grotesque for headlines, Plus Jakarta Sans for text and DM Mono for prices and figures
  • Both themes redrawn — a light one by default and a matching dark one
  • A new logo: "back" with "candle" on a mint highlight, and a "bc" icon in your browser tab
improved 6
  • The terminal fits every screen: on a laptop or tablet the player folds its buttons to icons and the top bar drops labels instead of pushing your balance off the edge, and on a phone the symbol is shown in full
  • The session status leads the player bar — a coloured dot and its state: active, paused, completed or abandoned
  • Order and position notices appear as a small card under the top bar, with the time and whether it went through
  • Popups and the margin form respond faster on computers with graphics acceleration turned off, and lite mode now drops every soft shadow
  • On a tablet, the dashboard's today's sessions, the top sessions in analytics and your billing history show as cards instead of tables that ran off the screen
  • Journal rows stay on one line on a tablet, and the session length on the dashboard sits in its own pill next to the date
removed 1
  • The "Picked" tag on the instrument you chose when starting a session — the highlighted card already says it
v2.0.0
Feature

Backcandle 2.0 — a new look, blind replay, challenges and shareable results

Backcandle has a new look: the terminal, every app page and the public site now share one design, with Paper as the default theme and Graphite as its dark twin. Underneath it there is more to practise with — replay blind without knowing the market or the dates, take on challenges with a pass mark and a leaderboard, try a session without an account, and finish every session with a report card you can share.

added 19
  • Paper is the new default theme, with Graphite as its dark twin
  • Blind replay: Backcandle picks the market and the dates and hides both until the session ends, so you trade the chart in front of you, not what you remember about it
  • Try a replay without an account — one free session from the landing page or any historic day; sign in with Google afterwards to keep it, otherwise it is cleared after 48 hours
  • 30 historic market days to replay — crashes, rulings, halvings and squeezes — each written up with what made it hard to trade and one click into the session
  • Challenges: fixed scenarios with a pass mark — finish green, keep drawdown under a limit, hold your discipline score — graded automatically the moment the session ends
  • The 10% Week: seven blind days on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana or XRP, with a fresh window on every attempt
  • Challenge leaderboards ranked on each trader's best attempt, under a nickname you choose in settings — or as Anonymous
  • A progress page: your streak, active days, the trend of your discipline score and badges for milestones from your first session to ten passed challenges
  • Add or remove margin on an open position to move its liquidation price without closing the trade
  • Hover a trade marker on the chart to see the trade behind it
  • One-click risk rule presets when you start a session — pick the commitments you are making and the report card holds you to them
  • A report card when a session ends: your discipline score, every rule you kept or broke linked to the trade it happened on, and one thing to work on next time — with a button straight to the session's journal
  • Share a finished session: a public page with the chart, every trade and the result, and a link you can revoke whenever you like
  • Free now covers Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Apple and gold alongside Bitcoin
  • A warning in the app header when your paid access is about to end, and an email three days before it does
  • Emails for the moments that matter: a welcome, access granted, access about to end and access ended
  • A blog: fifteen posts on backtest statistics, risk and trading discipline
  • A keyboard map with every shortcut the terminal knows
  • Side-by-side comparisons with other replay tools, with a source and a date for every claim about them — or "not verified" where nobody checked
changed 3
  • A new look across the whole product — the terminal, every app page and the public site share one design: hard frames, plain type and status colours you can read at a glance
  • A new logo: the BACK | CANDLE stamp
  • Plans are one-time payments for 30 days or a year — nothing renews; buy the next period whenever you like and it starts when the current one ends
improved 10
  • One menu in the app instead of two — every section, settings, billing and sign-out in a single side menu that also opens as a drawer on a phone
  • The dashboard, journal and analytics read better on a phone — today's sessions show as cards instead of a table you had to scroll sideways
  • The position card has Manage and Close buttons, and open positions page one at a time instead of stacking up
  • Funding and its countdown sit in the top bar, next to balance and equity
  • Cancelling a limit order removes it at once
  • Every instrument and session length is on the new-session page; the ones your plan does not include are greyed out with the plan that unlocks them
  • The journal shows the timeframe, session length and return on every row, the gross result behind the net one, and your session note beside the dates
  • Sessions that ended without a trade can be shown in the journal when you ask for them
  • Abandoning a session now says plainly that it will not reach your journal
  • Dates and times are shown in your own timezone
fixed 1
  • Signing in returns you to the page you were trying to open instead of the dashboard
removed 1
  • The cancel button — with nothing renewing, there was nothing for it to cancel
